For over twenty years, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has taken the anime fans on a wild ride that never seems to let up. The anime started off a little slow, but by the time of Stardust Crusaders, the show had found it’s voice and produced some of the craziest shows. We have finally gotten the fifth arc after two years. Golden Wind moves the story to Italy and charts the rise of one Giorno Giovanna.

Gold Experience / Golden Wind

Giorno has a had a rough start in life. Abused as a young child, he found that the mobsters who run his city get the most respect. Starting off his criminal life by stealing luggage at an airport, especially the luggage of a certain Japanese traveler. Giorno is confronted by one of the members of the most powerful family, the Passione. Giorno is not defenseless and uses his Stand to get out of the jam. Confronted by another member, Giorno announces his plan to take over Passione and turn it into a respectable organization.

Giorno is not your typical JoJo hero. At first glance, he seems to have no connection to the famous family. He is not interested in saving the world, but becoming the leader of a crime family. His Stand, Gold Experence, brings anything to life he chooses. Giorno does have a noble goal and you start to wonder if his aim to turn Passione into a group that helps the Italian citizens might be possible after all.

Bucciarati Is Coming

This is the first series that does not have Dio as the villain. he does play a part, in regards to the main hero especially. Dio was always such a great villain that anyone who follows him has big shoes to fill. The main villain has not been reveled yet, but I can say from the manga that he is a good choice. The supporting characters are also awesome, Guido Mist being my favorite simply because of his Stand.

Since the anime has been known for it closing song, we must make mention of Golden Wind‘s choice. If you thought that the last series song, I Want You by Savage Garden, was the strangest choice, this show ups the ante. Freek’n You by Jodeci is such a bizarre choice, but like all the crazy choices in JoJo, it somehow works. This show is a must watch. Tune in every Friday for more madness and fun.
