Most of the fantasy anime seems to concern itself with real world people sucked into a video game. This is not the case in Goblin Slayer. The world is real, as far as anyone knows. The Guild has a number of adventures who do jobs for them. One is the most experienced Goblin Slayer of all time. The other is a white mage who might be over her head.

Unexpected Visitors

The Priestess has not picked the best party for his first assignment with the Guild. After being attacked by goblins, which seem to be the chief problem in this world, she is the only one left alive and free. The Goblin Slayer happens upon her and is able to rescue her. The Goblin Slayer has an uncanny ability to hunt and kill goblins. He instructs the Priestess how to survive in her new role. Deciding that her best and safest course is to stay close to him, she joins him on other adventures.

It seems this world has no proper names. Characters are named after the job or what they do. It seems a little strange at first, but the viewer starts to get the hang of it. The Goblin Slayer has a very personal reason for killing any goblin he comes across. These creatures killed his whole family. The Priestess just wants a life of adventure and her sunny outlook is at odds with the world she know finds herself.

The Strong

If Goblin Slayer was just about killing goblins, the show would lose it’s appeal very quickly. In the third episode, the race of elves are introduced as well as a big bad named  The Demon King. The viewer also starts to learn about goblins and the mysteries surrounding them. Take one fighter and pair him with an optimistic girl and you have some interesting adventures ahead. Put on your armor, grab a weapon and see where fighting goblins will take you.
