Happy Halloween! Some of you have been preparing for this day all month. Others…may have completely forgot. Don’t worry. I’ve got you covered. Here are 5 Types of Cosplay that work as Halloween Costumes.

Horror Game Characters

Nothing makes you shiver like a character that’s given you a 1000 jump scares in a video game. Characters from Silent Hill, Five Nights at Freddies, and Alice the Madness Returns are creepy in their own right and even scarier to those that have played the game.

Scary Skins

With the increasing popularity of MOBA’s comes the popularity of their characters. Especially in their Halloween skins. Cosplaying a character’s skin is nothing new. But around October, their spookiest skin is the outfit to cosplay

Zombie

Ever wonder what you should do with a beat up cosplay you still want to wear? Cover it in blood and shuffle like a zombie. Popular at Zombie Walks, these cosplays are crawling their way into cons. Bonus points if the character was super sweet before zombification.

Villains

Today’s TV and movies are full of villains. You can’t go wrong with a classic villain from a Disney Movie like Jafar or the Evil Queen. Superhero Villains work too, especially menacing ones like Carnage or The Scarecrow.  The Joker is a classic, even Joaquin Phoniexs’ version has made a few appearances at Halloweekend cons.

Evil AU

Everyone loves a villain. But what if the villain was once the hero? The internet is crawling with fanfics and fan art of “Evil” versions of franchise heroes. They prey on audiences fears that the protagonist will “turn to the Darkside”. While there aren’t a ton of these cosplays out there, they are all quite terrifying.
