With Valentine’s Day approaching in a few short days, love is in the air for everyone. It is certainly on the minds of Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane. These two seem made for each other, but there is a little problem. Both believe that if they confess their feelings, it will make them look weak. A deceleration of love becomes a battle cry in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War

Kaguya comes from a very wealthy family. Miyuk is the most intelligent guy in school. These two are very clueless however when it comes to matters of the heart. They believe that making the other confess their feelings will make them a winner. They are not bad people, just two students who are not as grown up as they believe they are.

The story line is fascinating as you see what lengths these two will go to in order to be the winner of this game of hearts. Trickery and being evasive is just part of their courtship. The writers take great pains for the viewer to like the characters so we are rooting for them to get together. These are good kids, but kids are what they are.

The breakout character of this anime has to be Chika Fujiwara. A secretary who is just full of sunshine, she finds herself in the middle of this game without a clue what she is doing. Her dance at the end of one of the earlier episodes was a viral hit and she is just the cutest thing ever. My favorite scene has her busting out some rap to our two heroes.

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is the games that people play when they are in love, taken to an extreme of course. The shows handles what it was like to be that age and have feelings for someone. You think the other person likes you, but you have to be sure. Hopefully, whoever breaks first will be accepted without too much mocking. These two just belong together and it will be interesting to see how it comes about.
