New show on Prime Video made popular by the comics of the same name. In this universe super powered people are treated like celebrities. Many people look up to them as the best that humankind has to offer. But they don’t know what happens off camera or when regular humans aren’t watching.

The hero group is called The Seven and they are owned by Vought International who’s sole purpose is to market the heroes abilities and make money by any means necessary. The general public thinks that these supers follow the rules but there is more to it than that.

We follow a man by the name of Hughie Campbell, who didn’t think much of The Seven until one of them “accidentally” killed his girlfriend. He gets a unsympathetic apology and a check by Vought International for his loss, which is when he decides that something has to be done.

Billy Butcher is the leader of The Boys and recruits Hughie on taking down The Seven. He has a general distrust of supers due to a personal issue, particularly Homelander, the leader of The Seven. The show also follows a young super by the name of Annie (hero name Starlight) who is selected to join the superhero group. She’s ecstatic but soon learns that not everything is what it seems and the job is much harder than she was expecting.

The first season is a whirlwind of action packed fights, blackmail, and C4 in a place where a person wouldn’t want C4. I can’t speak for how accurate the show is to the comic, but after watching this show I will definitely give the comic books a try!
