Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is an experience characterized by a tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and can move down the entire body. It is produced by triggers, such as hand movements, eating or certain sounds. There is a feeling of euphoria and it can be used for sleep and to help ease anxiety. We take a look at some of our favorite ASMRtists and some of their best videos.

WHO

ASMR Glow is one of the rising stars in the ASMR Community. Glow has been been building her community through caring videos, imaginative roleplays and a desire to produce the best content. Outside of ASMR, Glow has quite a following on Instagram, where her amazing skills in makeup and fashion are on full display. Over on Twitch, Glow shows her skills in gaming as well as hosting live ASMR sessions. Funny, artistic and above all, caring Glow is like that cool girl in high school we all wanted to be friends with.

FIRST VIDEO

Posted on October 26, 2017, Glow’s first ASMR video was her routine when she is getting ready for bed. She shows her products and takes the viewer through wiping her face and brushing her hair. It might be her first video, but Glow is very natural in front of the camera. She has her opening down “Hi. It’s..ASMR…Glow.” You might catch the fact that she seems unsure of her name. It’s since become somewhat of a trademark.

MOST VIEWED

The first in a series, you are a robot (Android? Cyborg?) who is in need of some repair. Lucky for you, Glow is on the case. This series has progressed to encompass an entire futuristic world. Glow’s attention to detail is awesome, as one character has heard about you from her sister and Glow’s makeup is out of this world.. Sometimes, things are going good, sometimes they are not. The visuals have gone more high tech as Glow pushes herself further and further.

VIDEO TO WATCH (IF YOU ARE BRAVE ENOUGH)

Look, I am a fan of Stephen King. I am a fan of Glow. A roleplay with Glow as Pennywise the Dancing Clown should seem to be right up my alley. Except everything is a little too on point. As the layered sounds of being in the sewer combined with Glow’s exceptionally costume and impression, I started feeling a little trapped and nervous. Glow has made a bit of a tradition with a spooky video near Halloween every year. This video is a masterpiece of design and execution. I just could not get past minute 4.

PERSONAL FAVORITE

If you are a fan of ASMR, you will find videos that you keep coming back to. They can be a certain trigger or ASMRtist. For me, this video of Glows’ is one I keep coming back to. Just a video with some personal attention triggers such as scalp message and face touching among others. If I am tingled out ( usually from watching a lot of ASMR videos) this one will always work. The fact that it is not a roleplay somehow makes it even better.
