Blumhouse releases another season of their anthology Into the Dark. Once again, this episode is set around the holiday of Halloween. A board game that kills? Sounds like a twisted version of Jumanji.

This season is set around a group of college students who decide to stay in for Halloween. Having beer and playing board games with your adult friends sounds awesome right? Well, they weren’t prepared for what Uncanny Annie had in store for them.

The rules are simple, spell out her name on the board and the player wins the game. It’s what is on the cards that put the players’ through hell. If they had taken the game seriously to start out with they would have likely all come out alive. It is a group of young college students, so to expect seriousness may have been asking a lot.

It was a decent start to a new season of Into the Dark, but I was hoping for something more engaging. The last episode of the previous season had more feeling with it, but Halloween movies aren’t like that, so it hit its target. Those who like a twist on Jumanji may like this episode.
