The exciting finale is here for Lego Masters! So be prepared for epic spoilers (of course). Three teams are left so now everyone is set to see what the final challenge will be. The Brick Masters will lead the Lego Masters to probably the largest project they have ever had. One team will walk away with $100,000 USD and the Golden Lego Trophy.

Underdogs Sam and Jessica are ready to roll with their motivation while Tyler and Amy are ready to make a masterpiece. Mark and Boone have yelled and high-fived and were so pumped to get ready. Their toughest challenge comes down to this; building whatever the team chooses to represent themselves. Captivating storytelling, creativity and masterful technical ability with the bricks, is what the masters are looking for. This includes a small sketch model to pitch to the Brick Masters. With only one hour to complete their ideas, the pressure is higher than it has ever been.

First idea up is Sam and Jessica making a peacock with a monkey. The goal is to create a model that says a monkey wants to be as cool as the peacock.

Tyler and Amy have chosen to do a mythological tower with a griffin at the top. The theme is that the griffin is protecting its nest since they themselves have a baby on the way.

Mark and Boone are known for doing wacky and detailed projects so they are going for a tower that houses creativity by show casing units that have a different project inside. So far this model is following old patterns by them because the model looks plain. So now they must re-do their ideas to showcase creativity.

The final time on the clock is 24 hours. This is twice the amount of time given for any of the other builds. Mark and Boone eventually got their new idea figured out for Artopia, a dystopian building with creative people making their mark in the new world. Everyone else went straight to building and the Brick Masters seemed very happy about each idea. For this finale, everyone has scaled up their projects to massive heights. These are easily the largest builds that are being featured.

Admittedly, I didn’t think there would be a twist involved in the finale, but here we are. Per the usual, Will Arnett stopped the clocks and Tyler vocalized his displeasure (in a good way of course) and Will brought forward the families! Queue the tears! Everyone’s family came by to say hello and to motivate the teams, it was so refreshing. But that wasn’t all from Will, the second twist came when he announced that the winner’s masterpiece will be displayed at the LEGOLAND Resort. Not surprisingly, this news motivated everyone to work a bit harder and dream bigger.

As the last minute came to an end, everyone put their pieces to the center of the room to be judged. Mark and Boone’s creation has a huge story and a ton of mini figures. The coolest part is their paint can sensor that causes things to move.

Sam and Jessica’s peacock really stood out with the vibrant colors and their hidden monkey. In a small story, the monkey was crafting with the peacock’s feathers causing the peacock to be shocked as the feathers were plucked.

Last but not least, Tyler and Amy built a massive tower where a griffin flaps its wings over the nest to keep a giant lizard from approaching. The build is very graceful and also full of detail and characters.

For the final decision, the Brick Masters and Will graced a set up runway. Even all of the previous teams were there to cheer on the final three teams as well as everyone’s family. For such a small space, the room was exploding with cheer and excitement.

In the moments before the final decision, each team explained what the challenge has meant to them. Sam and Jessica gave each other thanks for their teamwork. Lastly, Will asked Boone to provide one more song and he rocked it. No matter who the Brick Masters chose, everyone has been amazing.

Third Place:  Jessica and Sam

Second Place: Mark and Boone

Winners: Tyler and Amy

The judges didn’t completely explain why they chose Tyler and Amy and their thought process but I’m happy for them none-the-less. The only thing I would have wanted to see from Lego Masters is longer episodes, some behind the scenes stuff and of course, more episodes. I’m hopeful that all of the teams that were featured this season will get to go and do more amazing things with their work.

Final Thought: Go out and create.
