An episode back in season 1 we didn’t cover was Pooka. He was from the Christmas episode. Every child wanted Pooka doll. He seems harmless…at first. We find out that Pooka never truly died. Check out this April Fools episode of Into the Dark.

In the age of the internet, internet urban legends have been created, such as SlenderMan. Pooka’s transformation and creation came the same way.

A writer who is trying to escape the doxxing he is receiving due to a social media entertainer. He goes to his hometown but he can’t escape the ridicule there. One thing he notices about this social media influencer is that they love an internet challenge. So he and his former high school buddies create “the Pooka Challenge” which is posted on a CreepyPasta-like website. Pooka will determine if you have been good or not. Here’s the thing though, Pooka became an internet sensation. With the challenge trending on social media, Pooka transformed into something else entirely. The photo above shows one of his transformations due to art creation on the internet. It is up to those who created him to take him down because people are dropping like flies.

I really enjoyed this episode because it is a throwback to first season on one of the best horror Christmas themes since Krampus. I hope Pooka lives on beyond this season!
