The Ronan twins came back with chapters 2 and 3 in DONTNOD Entertainment’s Tell Me Why limited series. The three episodes came out very quickly back to back which kept the game still fresh in our minds, yet able to complete the story without lag. Both chapters offered a deeper look into the physical and mental bond of the twins.

Without worrying about spoilers, chapter 2 really focused heavily on the townspeople of Alaska. As the twins go through their mother’s home and clean up, memories start coming pretty heavily. The powers the twins have to see memories of their mother come rolling in pretty rapidly, and this “power” is almost over used at times. At one point it almost seems like the only thing you can use to keep everything going. Along the way though, you really start to learn about the connections their mother had and where everyone fits into the lives of the twins. This is where choices really start to become a big deal for the ending of the game.

Chapter 3 started at a pretty slow pace but picked up incredibly fast. You realize that the twins remember things slightly differently and who you choose to believe can either bring them closer or rip them further apart. The underlying theme here is that memories change over time. Also, this just points to people remembering things differently in general too. DONTNOD did a good job of relaying that people can remember things differently but still be close. The twins end up finding out a lot about the past with their mother and visit other characters before the game ends too. The ending was somewhat underwhelming but the characters were very well represented and presented a great environment for a transitioning person. Maybe one day this type of reality can be true.
