Welcome to the WrestleMania 2022 Night 1 Review for April 2, 2022.

Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs vs. The Usos (Smackdown Tag Team Championship match)

Boogs is a great entertainer, but his power does not get enough credit. Holding a suplex and getting down and back up one one knee is impressive. The problem became when  Jimmy and Jay piled on his back and his knee buckled. Boogs was out of the match. Nakamura tried to fight both men, but A 3D sealed the deal for the champions

The Usos beat Nakamura and Boogs to retain the Smackdown Tag Team Championships.

Drew Mcintyre vs. Baron Corbin

Corbin is just as tall as Drew, so this might not be the mismatch most people might think. Drew came out swinging, being able to counter Baron move’s early on. A missed move which lead to Corbin being able to hit Drew’s knee and slow him down. Drew became fired up, but was stopped by a Deep Six. Drew became the first person to kick out of the End of Days and a Claymore sealed his win.

Drew pinned Baron

The Mysterios vs. Logan Paul and The Miz

How would Paul do in his first wrestling match? He tagged in early, but a split at the wrong time allowed Rey and Dominik to take control. A cheap shot by Paul allowed the media superstars to put Dominik in danger of some serious. Rey got the hot tag and cleared house. Logan regained control and started to hit Eddie Guerrero moves to Nuclear heat from the crowd. They got the pin for the win, but Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Logan afterwards.

Paul and Miz beat the Mysterios

Bianca Belair vs Becky Lynch (Raw Championship match)

A story that began at Summerslam, finally Belair and Lynch would have a proper match. A quick remix of that match followed, with Belair kicking out this time. Lynch tried to blitz her, but she got caught in her own Dis-Arm-Her. The two kept going at each other, barely giving anyone a moment to breath. In the end, Belair hit the KOD to win the title. Belair keeps putting on matches like this, she might be Mrs. Wrestlemania

Belair beat Lynch to become the new Raw Championship.

Seth Rollins vs. Cody Rhodes

The rumors were all over, but still seeing Cody walk down the ramp was a surreal moment. Seth and Cody had a traditional match that built to more aggressive style as it continued. Seth powerbombed Cody into the side of the ring barrier and Cody hit a Cross Rhodes for a close two count. It took a Bionic Elbow and three Cross Rhodes and Cody got the pin.

Cody beat Seth

Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte (Smackdown Championship match)

When Rhonda first came into WWE, her matches consisted of her taking a few hits and then ending things early. Now, she takes more damage and her matches are much more interesting. Charlotte was trying to target various body parts to wear her down and Ronda reversing at the right moment. A referee bump meant that no one saw Charlotte tapping and a big boot gave The Queen the upset win

Charlotte pinned Rousey to retain The Smackdown Championship.

Kevin Owens vs Stone Cold Steve Austin ( No Holds Barred)

The KO show quickly became this match. Austin began by stomping a mudhole just like the days of old. Owens was able to shove him into the ring post. Austin recovered and threw Owens through a table. The battle went into the crowd and Austin took a suplex on the concrete. A stunner later and Austin pinned Kevin Owens. I just saw a Stone Cold match in 2022.

Match(s) of the Night
