2022 has been a great year for video games. From the long awaited sequel to God of War to the glory of Elden Ring. The following five games may be on your radar or might not be, but they are the five games I played the most this year. The only requirement is that they came out in 2022.

5. My Time at Sandrock

My Time at Portia was an obsession of mine last year, and I would always check when the sequel was coming. Taking place in the new location, you help the residents rebuild the city and possibly find love along the way. The sequel by Pathea keeps everything I loved about the first game while adding new things to discover.

4. Dinkum

Head Down Under as you you try to survive the Australian Outback. This is a casual game, but seeing a crafting game with kangaroos and crocs is a nice change. Created by James Brendon, this is still in early access, but a whole lot of fun.

3. Disney Dreamlight Valley

Anything Disney will always get a look from me. Gameloft takes the charm of trying to restore an area and adds Disney to make it even better. The story, about a missing ruler, keeps you pushing forward. Seeing what new characters are introduced is a lot of fun.

2. Elden Ring

You thought it was all going to be casual games, huh? From Software always makes games that I love to watch, but not play. For this one, I took a deep breath and charged in. The game is amazing to look at, hard to master and always makes you feel like you are battling forces much stronger than you.

1. Wylde Flowers

A casual game with a large dose of the supernatural, Studio Drydock creates a world I keep coming back to. You have to fix the residents problems during the day and craft potions at night. A council hidden in masks, a new world that shows up after many hours and characters who are actually interesting makes this the top of the list.
