Welcome to the Raw review for January 30, 2023
Choices
With the winners of the Royal Rumble, I enjoyed the fact that they didn’t waste time choosing who to go after. While Cody has to go through Roman Reigns, Rhea had her choice. She decided to go after Charlotte for the Smackdown Championship. Many fans probably wanted her to go after Bianca, but The Queen has a better story. It was Charlotte who beat her at WrestleMania and the nightmare has some unfinished business.
I was very curious how fans would treat Cody. He was showered in cheers and “You deserve it” chants. They story of getting the championship that his father never got is great, but the last ten minutes of the Rumble made a strong case for Sami Zayn. I think it should be Cody for one simple reason: Sami has never shown any interest in Roman’s championship. When Roman loses to Cody a few months from now, it should be Sami who helps it happen.
